But in His love, He also knows better than us. If heaven is just that then it does not sound like a place I want to be.

Will you spend it enjoying yourself? Either one does things to get into heaven, or else relies on what Jesus has done.

The community of Reason - You see to a Christian, it is a matter of great importance, greater than our life here or our happiness here.

To me it's not a big deal. My husband is agnostic. We do have discussions on religion and spirituality. And I'm open to people takes on those topics. So it's never a debate. As far as the kids, we as of now decided to let them decide. But I am responsible for introducing them to religion. More so in a way of having general knowledge. The funny thing about this is, religion was never a part of the criteria I had for what man needed to have. But I can see for some of you why it's very important. So to that I say you are neither right or wrong. It's what works best for you. Atheism is the lack of belief in any gods. Agnosticism is the recognition that the existence of gods is an unanswerable because it's untestable hypothesis. They really answer two different questions. Ask me what I believe and I'm an atheist. Ask me what I know and I'm an agnostic. Note that atheism is not a philosophy or a movement. It is merely the lack of belief in gods. It has nothing to do with morality, good or evil, or anything else. It's just the gods thing. I'm atheist and will only date other atheists. Even going out with an agnostic is pushing it. I was raised black southern baptist. I have friends from various religious backgrounds, and being a history nerd makes me knowledgeable about most major and minor religious groups, movements, philosophies, and beliefs. And I'm not an atheist due to trauma experienced in church, so I can have a conversation about religion, fate, determinism, etc. A good rule of thumb is to date someone who shares traits with you that you both view as positive who has different traits to offset your negative ones. Culture plays a big part too. In Vietnam it's becoming pretty common for Christians to marry Buddhists. It's because folks from both groups have so much in common, were raised in the same area, and respect each others religious practices and beliefs. The situation is as follows: you find someone, you like them intensely. They're very good person, good family background, tender-hearted but strong-minded. As a religious person or a believer how would you deal in finding out they're atheist? Is that a number one deal breaker? Believers that don't go church or follow a religion where do you sit? ETA: I'm not atheist and I'm not saying atheists argue or constantly debate religion because they don't all. I'm just asking the perspective in terms of dating someone with a different belief than yours. I also didn't like how he would take Gods name in vain. I wouldn't date an atheist ever again. I wouldn't do it, and I am not even a traditional Christian. Never been to a church service and probably will never go. Scorned ex Christians who never actually studied the religion and assumed that God is some genie who grants your every wish and got mad when their wish didn't come true. Let them be angry bitter and disrespectful with their own kind. He never stopped me from attending church or believing however he will mock God from time to time and that was not okay with me. I ended things a few months into the relationship one of the hardest things I've ever done. Religion is very important to me and not something to be trifled with. Why is this all important? I want him to be the head of our family but to also be accountable to someone other than me and himself. Secondly, I want my kids to be raised in the church daily scripture readings and family prayers before bed; I have no interest in playing church. Thirdly, the people that you interact with daily shape your character. I want to grow as a christian so I need to be with someone who can help me reach my potential. PS: sorry for the essay i dated an atheist for a year. I also didn't like how he would take Gods name in vain. I wouldn't date an atheist ever again. This is a big problem within the christian community. We call ourselves Christians and yet we do not know the bible I count myself in as well. That is why when we are presented with what looks like better arguments, we falter and follow the world as opposed to sticking to our beliefs. I am trying to remedy this by attending bible study. Its amazing what difference its already making in my life and I can't wait to see how much I will grow this year. This is a big problem within the christian community. I would say bible quotes to my then atheist bf and he would agree - not realizing I was quoting Scripture.

Atheist Boy Meets Christian Girl
More of a ghost reader. She always wears a cross and there is miscellaneous religious apparel throughout our house. What i glad is to do is encourage her in her religious beliefs. By waiting to kiss her i will be showing her how important she is to me. It began—like most spectacularly awkward dating fiascos do—at dinner. She hugged me goodnight. How does that sound?.
